Best PCs for Valorant

Best PCs for Valorant

Games that are free to play are usually the most popular games that get played. Now, a newcomer has entered the ring and is taking the world of gaming by storm: Valorant. Fortnite, League of Legends, Dota 2, and CS:GO have some of the largest professional tournaments with large audiences and massive prizes, even though all these games are free to play. But that is exactly why they are so popular because everyone can play these games. Like Valorant, they’re quick to install, easy to run on basic computers and laptops, and have something fun to offer to players of all skill levels.

Made by Riot Games, the same developers who created League of Legends, Valorant is a tactical first-person shooter takes two teams of five and pits them against each other in a battle of skill and coordination, where one team tries to attack the other while attempting to plant a spike in a designated area to win a round. The first team to win 13 rounds wins the game. What makes this game unique is its ability based agents which can augment the games and allow teams to gain an advantage in a fast firefight. Sight-blocking smoke orbs, quick dashes, and traps are all dangerous tools that teams can use to gain the win or hurt yourself.

So what is the best gaming PC for Valorant? Valorant’s system requirements are very forgiving. The developers are committed to allowing everyone with a computer to be able to play this game, regardless if it is a gaming computer or not. This means that the low settings are very easy to run, but just because every PC will be able to run Valorant doesn’t mean every PC will deliver the same experience and performance playing Valorant. If you are planning to play with the best Valorant champions, then you’ll need to get a decent gaming computer and monitor to keep up.

We updated our Best Valorant PCs List!  Since our TOP 3 best list of gaming PCs to play Valorant came out, I received a lot of questions about what other computers gamers should look at. From the game’s website, there are three tiers of system requirements for Valorant. All of them are fairly low with outdated parts in an effort to not scare away users who haven’t upgraded their gaming PC in years. Best Overall: Apex Alpha

    Apex Alpha Gaming PC

The Apex Alpha is a great gaming PC for Valorant and a variety of other games, capable of playing a lot of games at 1080p, 144 FPS at high settings. It’s very affordable compared to other models, but that just makes it have a better bang for the buck. It’s also quite a good looking computer, which will easily make all your friends jealous of your sleek new gaming PC.

The Intel i5-10400F is a solid CPU with 6 CPU cores and 12 threads for all the computing tasks you would ever need to do. In gaming, it’ll be enough to keep up with pushing out 240 FPS while playing Valorant. In its base configuration, the stock CPU cooler is sufficient, but if you prefer to have a bit less fan noise and an overall quieter system, then the Hyper 212 is a solid option.

For Valorant, a high-end graphics card is not necessary to play at fast frame rates. The 1660 Super will be able to handle it all, no matter how high you turn up the settings. When the settings are dialed in just right, 240 FPS will also be achievable, which is up with the fastest monitors you can buy.

For RAM and storage, having more is always better than not having enough, which is why 16GB of RAM is recommended with a 500GB SSD for playing Valorant. Though Valorant requires little storage, having extra storage for all those other big games like Call of Duty and DOOM Eternal is a good idea, as well as having 16GB of RAM for other games. Even though Valorant will only use 4 GB of RAM, most other games will use up to 12GB, so having 16GB is always recommended.

To go with this amazing computer, you should definitely have a great gaming mouse and monitor to help complete the experience and make sure that none of your hardware is holding you back. The best monitor pairing that we’d recommend is the LG 27GN750. It is fast with a 240Hz refresh rate, has very good color accuracy, and the 27-inch size makes it great for all gaming setups. For a mouse, we recommend a light-weight mouse that will be able to accurately track all mouse flicks, with a lot of customization options for the side-buttons. The Cooler Master MM711 or Razer Viper are great light weight mice.

    Best Budget: Apex Silver

    Apex Silver (AMD) Gaming PC

The Apex Silver is Apex’s most price competitive gaming PC, and it sells very well because it gives a lot of customers a solid gaming experience without destroying wallets. It is capable, looks fantastic, and can be upgraded to accommodate most people’s needs, making it perfect for Valorant.

To prevent the CPU from slowing you down too much in-game, the Ryzen 3 3100 is recommended as an upgrade from the base Athlon 3000G for Valorant. The overall architecture improvements from the newer CPU will definitely help deliver a 144 FPS experience. Plus, the extra 2 cores over the 3000G will make the Ryzen 3100 much better suited for other games that rely more heavily on the CPU.

The GTX 1650 Super is a fantastic entry-level graphics card that will definitely suffice for Valorant. In the past five years, entry-level graphics have certainly seen a huge upgrade in overall performance. It even has the new and improved NVENC encoder built-in, meaning that you can easily stream and record your gameplay without putting extra load on your CPU while maintaining great visual quality.

As stated above, 16GB is recommended for all modern gaming PCs, as the limits of 8GB of RAM is much more prevalent. But since Valorant is such a small game, starting with a 120GB SSD is not a bad idea, since it’ll easily fit Windows 10 and a few other games. You’ll always be able to easily add in more storage later to your computer when the 120 GB starts filling up.

For a budget monitor recommendation, we recommend an IPS panel with a 144Hz refresh rate, such as the AOC 24G2, to help make sure that you are benefiting from this amazing gaming computer you just bought. For a mouse, the Razer Viper Mini is a more affordable but still very good option.

    Best High End: Apex Platinum

    Apex Platinum Gaming PC

The Apex Platinum is a fantastic gaming PC and is one of our crown jewels at Apex. The design language, modern sleek design, and angular dust filters make this one of the best computers all around. For a truly pro-level gaming experience for Valorant and more, look no further than the Apex Platinum.

The Intel i5-10600K is the best gaming CPU that currently exists as it can match the performance of the 10900K without having unnecessary heat created by the extra 4 CPU cores that most games will not take advantage of. With that in mind, upgrading to one of the Z490 motherboards is also highly recommended as it’ll allow the CPU to be overclocked to its fullest potential to make sure you are always capping 300FPS or more.

The RTX 2060 Super also is a very good graphics card, that is only slightly slower than the 2070 Super. It is great for 1440p/2K monitors that are prolific among the PC gaming community currently. If you have the budget though, the 2070 Super will benefit your gaming experience in other games, but if you are planning on playing Valorant a majority of the time, then the 2060 Super will do great.

As with all other gaming PCs, no matter the price, 16GB of RAM is always recommended as almost no games will use more than that, but many games will want 16 GB of RAM. Similarly, a 500GB SSD is recommended because that much storage can fit a lot of games, as well as all the other software you’d want to store. If you know you need more storage, you can add more, but 500GB is really that sweet spot when you just want a gaming computer solely for gaming.

The peripherals for Valorant that are recommended at this price point do get a noticeable upgrade. Compared to our best overall monitor recommendation, the Samsung Odyssey G7 is a newcomer to the world of gaming monitors, but it is aiming for the crown for the best gaming monitor with a 1440p resolution and 240Hz refresh rate. For the price, the vivid color and amazing response times do make it the best gaming monitor in this price class, but the curve might turn off a few buyers. Then for the best of the best gaming mice out right now, you would be hard-pressed to find a better option than the Razer Viper Ultimate. While there is a lot of contention for the best mouse for first-person shooter games like Valorant, the Viper Ultimate is wireless which separates it from a lot of other gaming mice because it is easier and faster to aim with since there is no cord. If you want a professional-level gaming mouse, then this is it. Its shape and weight are perfect for most grip styles and hands as well.

If none of the above computers seem like the right fit for you, then Apex offers customized PC builds for any customer to fit your exact needs and budget.
