November 2026 Safety Alert: CPSC Issues Recall for Select Apex and Manik Computer Power Supply Units

If you purchased an Apex Gaming PC or individual power supply unit (PSU) between December 2021 and February 2026, your system may be part of an active Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) safety recall (Recall #26-426).

Apex Gaming PCs, in cooperation with the CPSC, has issued a voluntary safety warning for certain Apex- and Manik-branded ATX Power Supplies.

What You Need to Know: Understanding the Hazard

The Core Issue:

This recall was triggered because the affected PSUs lack mandatory, permanent ANSI-compliant warning labels warning of high-voltage electrical hazards ("Danger/Warning: Risk of Electrical Shock" and "No User-Serviceable Parts").

Is my PC dangerous to run?

Unlike recalls caused by thermal failure or fire risks, these units do not have reported internal hardware defects or fire hazards. However, power supplies contain high-voltage internal capacitors that store lethal electrical charges long after being unplugged. Opening or attempting to service these power supplies without proper labeling poses an immediate risk of severe electrical shock or electrocution.

  • Reported Incidents or Injuries: Zero reported to date.

How to Identify Affected Components

This recall covers both standalone power supplies and prebuilt desktop systems shipped with these units.

  • Brand Names: Apex or Manik

  • Wattages: 450W, 750W, 1000W, and 1200W

  • Color Options: Black or White casing

  • Physical Markers: Secured with four precision screws and features a tamper/security seal over one screw

  • Original Purchase Window: December 2021 – February 2026

Choose Your Free Remedy

Do not attempt to open, disassemble, or repair the power supply yourself. The CPSC recommends pausing use of affected PSUs until one of the following official, zero-cost solutions is completed:

Option 1: Free Mail-In Safety Label Kit (Self-Apply)

Apex will send you a UL-recognized, heat-resistant adhesive warning label via U.S. Mail. Applying this sticker to the exterior of the power supply housing brings the unit into full safety compliance.

Option 2: Full Unit Replacement & Free Shipping

If you prefer not to apply the label yourself, Apex Gaming PCs will replace the power supply unit completely free of charge. Apex will cover all round-trip shipping costs for individual PSUs or full prebuilt desktops so their technicians can install the replacement unit at their facility.
