The PC itself is great, however the QC process was completely non-existent. The PC arrived with the HDD unallocated and the RGB lights not working. No big deal….right?
I called customer service the day after I received the PC (Feb 7) and they apologized. They walked me through a few steps to see if the lights themselves were broken or if it was something else. Ultimately they decided to send me another remote to see if that solved the problem. Let’s say a week has gone by at this point from my initial call, so on or around 15 Feb I was told I would be sent a new remote, and the remote will be shipped within a week. 2 weeks went by before I called back to ask for a tracking number, and I was told that Apex didn’t have a tracking number yet and that they weren’t aware whether it had been shipped, but they would escalate it and get it out within a week. Another week went by and I called back, still to be told they hadn’t shipped it yet. I started called everyday, to be told after 5 weeks that this $3 remote was boxed, and that I’d finally get a tracking number, which I did. That tracking number was valid for about 24 hours before receiving a “shipment cancelled” notification. So I called back in, this time with less patience and asked that this once again be escalated, because at this point the company had to be f$&@ing with me. It took another 2 weeks and 7-8 more phone calls to finally get a remote shipped. Hint hint, it didn’t work. Also, I could have just replaced the lights myself but I was told that if I disconnected anything inside the PC that my warranty would be voided. Unbelievable that over a $69 upgrade that I had to spend close to 20 hours on the phone with customer service over 6-7 weeks for anything to happen.
Now I want to make it clear that the customer service team was very polite and just as confused as I was about the entire issue, but whatever happens between customer service and order fulfillment is completely broken. Laughable even. I did finally get a refund but I won’t be a returning customer. Again, PC is great as long as yours is QCd before shipment, but god help your soul if something is wrong.
