How to Sync Your Apex Gaming PC with SignalRGB
If you’ve recently unboxed your PC from Apex Gaming PCs, you know that the hardware is only half the fun—the other half is the light show. While many prebuilt PCs come with basic remote controls or fragmented software for each component, there is a better way.
SignalRGB is the "one ring to rule them all" for PC lighting. It allows you to sync your motherboard, RAM, GPU, and even your peripherals (like your mouse and keyboard) into one cohesive, fluid masterpiece.
Here is your step-by-step guide to taking total control of your Apex build.

1. Compatibility
Before you dive in, you need to ensure SignalRGB can "talk" to your hardware. Apex Gaming PCs uses components from major brands like ASUS, MSI, ASRock, or Gigabyte.
-
Motherboard/Fans: Most Apex builds use standard 5V ARGB headers. If your fans are plugged into the motherboard, SignalRGB will control them via the motherboard's lighting controller.
-
The "Remote" Trap: If your Apex PC came with a small physical remote to change colors, your fans are likely connected to a hardware hub. To use SignalRGB, you may need to press a button on that hub (often labeled "MB" or held for 3 seconds) to pass control to the motherboard.
2. Uninstall Conflicting Software
This is the most important step. RGB controllers are jealous—they don't like to share. If you have MSI Center, ASUS Armoury Crate, or Razer Synapse running, they will fight SignalRGB for control, resulting in flickering or "frozen" lights.
Pro Tip: You don't necessarily have to uninstall them, but you must disable their "lighting service" or ensure they don't launch on startup. Apex Gaming PCs does not ship it's PCs with any of these softwares installed, so if you have not installed them you are good to go.
3. Installation and Setup
-
Download: Head to the SignalRGB website and download the installer.
-
Run as Admin: Install the app and ensure you grant it Administrator privileges so it can access your hardware sensors.
-
The Dashboard: Once open, SignalRGB will automatically scan for compatible devices. You should see your Motherboard, GPU, and RAM pop up in the Devices tab.
4. Configuring Your Layout
-
Go to the Layouts tab.
-
You will see icons for all your components. Drag and move them to match where they sit in your actual case.
-
If your fans are on the right side of your case, move the fan icons to the right of the canvas. This ensures that a "Wave" effect moves across your PC naturally from left to right.
5. Choosing Your Vibe
-
Free Effects: There are hundreds of free fluid animations, including "Rain," "Color Cycle," and "Solid."
-
Game Integrations (Pro): If you play Apex Legends (fitting for an Apex PC!), SignalRGB can react to the game. Your PC can flash red when you take damage or pulse gold when you find Legendary loot.
- Screen Mirroring: This captures the colors on your monitor and projects them onto your PC lights—perfect for immersive late-night gaming sessions.
6. Troubleshooting Common Apex PC Issues
"My fans aren't showing up!" If your motherboard is detected but the fans aren't lighting up, go to Devices > [Your Motherboard] > Component Console. You may need to manually tell the software how many LEDs are in your fan strips (usually 9, 12, or 24).
"My lights are flickering!" Check your Task Manager. Look for processes like LightingService.exe or RgbFusion.exe. End those tasks, restart SignalRGB, and the flickering should stop.
